Detailed Itinerary for 8 Days Best of South Africa Tour.
Day 1: Arrival in Johannesburg
Make your own way to the hotel upon arrival. Spend the rest of the day at your leisure, or go on an optional city tour. Dinner and overnight in Johannesburg.
Day 2: Explore in Johannesburg
This morning, have a Soweto orientation tour. SOWETO, which stands for South Western Township, is home to nearly 2 million people who, although living in congested and chaotic conditions, have a palpable feeling of community that, ironically, the orderly, walled-off northern suburbs lack. Before leaving the business centre, drive through the Hector Pieterson Museum and Mandela House on your way to the Mpumalanga area. Continue via Graskop to Hazyview, which is located just outside Kruger National Park. Dinner and overnight at Hazyview.
Day 3: Kruger National Park
The world-famous Kruger National Park provides one of the greatest animal experiences in Africa. There are about 147 animal species here, including the ‘Big 5’ like lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, and rhinoceros black & white. Spend the day watching games from your coach in this pristine 20,000-square-kilometer park. You could be lucky and glimpse Africa’s Big Five – the thrill of viewing animals up close is absolutely memorable! Dinner and overnight at Kruger National Park.
Day 4: Johannesburg Cape Town -Stellenbosch
Return to Johannesburg this morning to catch a flight from OR Tambo International Airport to Cape Town. You will be greeted and taken to your accommodation in Stellenbosch upon arrival at Cape Town International Airport. Take the rest of the day at your leisure. Spend the night in Stellenbosch.
Day 5: Free Day-Stellenbosch
Enjoy your day at leisure or perhaps take the following optional Winelands tour.
Day 6: Transfer to Cape Town
After breakfast, return to Cape Town for a half-day orientation tour of the city. You’ll see renowned structures, snippets of history, and get a sense of the city’s individuality. Drive through the country’s oldest structure, the Castle, and the Company Gardens, which are both historically interesting and beautifully preserved. Our journey continues through the Parliament Buildings, City Hall, and the Slave Lodge, all of which have distinct architecture that reflects the richness of history. As you make your way up the cobblestoned slopes to the Malay Quarter, marvel at the ice-cream colors of the charming Bo-Kaap houses. Dinner and overnight in Cape Town.
Day 7: Cape Town
Enjoy your day here at leisure or perhaps you can consider taking the Peninsula Tour, which is available as an optional full-day excursion. Prepare to be taken into a world of brilliant entertainment this evening, including world-class local artists. The Rockwell Dinner Theatre’s Kaapse Stories is an ideal event for visitors of all ages. Through the exploits of the Kleintjies family, this award-winning programme will transport you into the lively world of District Six. Kaapse Stories, written and directed by Basi Appollis, provides an inspirational look at the rainbow country of Cape Town. Guests will be treated to a four-course meal featuring the greatest culinary pleasures that traditional Cape cuisine has to offer. Later retire to your hotel for the night.
Day 8: Departure
After having your breakfast, transfer to Cape Town International Airport where you will board your flight back home. End of Tour.
