Detailed Itinerary for 7 Days Addo Elephant National Park Tour.
Day 1: Pick-up from Port Elizabeth and Transfer to Addo Elephant National Park.
Welcome to the lovely country of South Africa! Upon your arrival at Port Elizabeth International Airport, we will arrange for a private transfer for you. A driver will greet you with a sign with your name and transport you to your lovely Addo Elephant Park lodge. Enjoy your first game drive in the afternoon if time allows. Otherwise, unwind and enjoy personalized care as well as a delicious meal offered at the resort in the evening. In Addo Elephant Park, spend the night in a lodge.
Day 2: Addo Elephant National Park
Get ready for your elephant encounter in Addo Elephant National Park with an energetic breakfast at the hotel. The Addo Elephant National Park in the Eastern Cape covers over 12,000 hectares between the Zuurberg Mountains and the Sunday River. It was founded in 1931 with the goal of saving the last remaining Cape elephants from extinction. More than 400 elephants, as well as buffalo, kudu, black rhino, different antelope, and lions, now call it home. The dung beetle, which has become an uncommon sight, may also be seen by visitors.
Animals can be seen in their native habitats and at numerous water holes along circular pathways. In the morning and afternoon, search for the Big Five with your ranger guide from open safari vehicles. Between safari excursions, you’ll return to the resort for some free time and lunch. Spend the day doing anything you want before supper. Dinner and overnight at your lodge in Addo Elephant national park.
Day 3: Transfer to Grootbos Nature Reserve.
After a delicious breakfast at the hotel, you will be taken back to Port Elizabeth Airport for your trip to Cape Town the next morning (flight is not included). Your driver will be waiting for you when you arrive, carrying a sign with your name on it, and will take you to Grootbos Private Nature Reserve. After checking in, unwind or go for a self-guided stroll before dining at Grootbos restaurant’s five-course supper. Overnight stay at lodge in Grootbos Private Nature Reserve.
Day 4: Explore Grootbos Nature Reserve.
Enjoy a delicious morning meal at your lodge and then jump right into one of our favourite activities. You may select from a range of activities, including nature hikes and horseback riding, which are all included in your accommodation cost. If you’re looking for a thrill, try shark cage diving, which is available as an optional activity. South Africa’s coastline in and around Hermanus becomes a playground and nursery for southern right whales from June to November. To create this once-in-a-lifetime experience, go whale watching on shore or arrange a boat excursion. Plan your day according to your own preferences and sentiments, and add the missing adventure to your experience. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.
Day 5: Drive to Cape Town
After breakfast, your driver-guide picks you up from Grootbos at 10:00 a.m. and transports you to Cape Town for a private half-day city exploration. Discover sights such as Company’s Garden, the Old Dutch East India Company’s vegetable garden and the cause for Cape Town’s existence. With its tiny cobblestone alleys and candy-colored buildings, a leisurely stroll through the Bo-Kaap, or Cape Malay districts, is a must. Table Mountain, of course, must be the cherry on top. The revolving climbing cable car offers the most spectacular views of the mother city. Please keep in mind that this section of the trip is weather dependent. You can opt to visit the famous V&A Waterfront on your own after you have been dropped off at your hotel. Later have dinner and overnight in Cape Town.
Day 6: Full Day Cape Peninsula Tour.
Today, on our privately guided excursion, we combine a full-day Cape Peninsula tour with visits to two prominent and well-known wine farms, as well as the famed Cape of Good Hope. At around 8am in the morning, your guide picks you up from your accommodation and drives you to Hout Bay and the scenic coastline route Chapman’s Peak, leaving Cape Town behind. Take the funicular or the steps to Cape Point Lighthouse when you arrive at Cape Point. We’ll be treated to a breathtaking vista! Lunch is not included; however it will be served at Kalk Bay, a former fishing village with a charming harbour. Following that, we arrive at Constantia, which is not just a wealthy neighbourhood but also home to some of the Western Cape’s oldest wine farms.
Before continuing to Klein Constantia Wine Estate for another wine adventure, have a wine tasting. Klein Constantia is the oldest wine estate in South Africa, having been founded in 1685. In the 18th century, it became famous for its muscatels and dessert wines, generating quality rather than quantity. Return to the hotel and prepare for tonight’s special supper treat (included): an African culinary adventure with live entertainment, including an interactive drumming session. Spend the night at your hotel in Cape Town.
Day 7: Departure.
Enjoy your final wonderful breakfast at the lodge, surrounded by this genuine scene of natural beauty, before driving back to O. R. Tambo International Airport in Cape Town, from where you will fly home or to your next destination. End of Tour.
