Detailed Itinerary for 5 Days Tarangire, Serengeti & Ngorongoro Crater Safari.
Day 1: Pickup from Arusha and City Tour
Our guide will meet you at the airport in Arusha. Our guides are native Tanzanians who know the nation and Arusha well, so you’ll be in good hands from the minute you arrive until you depart. Because we like to start our safaris early in the morning, we always recommend resting in Arusha before the safari.
Day 2: Transfer to Tarangire National Park and Game Drive
At 0800hrs, you will be picked up from your hotel in Arusha/Moshi and transferred to Tarangire National Park to begin your game viewing experience in this magnificent park known for its large collection of baobab trees, spectacular large mammal population, and variety of bird species, not to mention one of the country’s largest concentrations of elephants. Following your tour of the park, you will be taken to the Fig Big Tree Lodge or Jambo Lodge, where you will spend the night.
Day 3: Transfer to Serengeti National Park
After an early breakfast, leave for the world’s most famous national park, the Serengeti National Park. The driving itself is magnificent, despite its length. For those witnessing it for the first time, this will be a memorable occasion. As you go farther into the Serengeti, you will understand why the term means “endless plains” in the native tongue.
Serengeti is derived from the Masai term Siringitu, which means “endless plains.” The grassland savannah reaches to the horizon in the south and is only interrupted by the so-called kopjes, which is why the Masai gave this region this name. The weathering of granite outcrops has resulted in the production of these odd rock formations known as kopjes.
The plains are ideal hunting areas for leopards and other big cats, and you will get an excellent chance to see these majestic creatures in their natural environment via the vehicle’s open roof. In the afternoon, you will arrive at your destination for the day, the Seronera Valley in the Serengeti’s center region. You will camp for the night in safari-style tents and eat a delicious supper in the middle of the African jungle.
Day 4: Serengeti –Ngorongoro Crater
On this day, we recommend getting up extremely early to go on an early morning game drive (when the animals are more active) and view one of the most beautiful sunrises you’ve ever seen. After the wildlife drive, we’ll return to the camp for a satisfying lunch before heading to Ngorongoro, the Natural World’s 8th wonder. The crater is 102 square miles and has 2.000-foot-high walls, like Noah’s ark and home to nearly every kind of fauna native to East Africa. It’s one of the few places on the entire continent where you can see a Black Rhino.
The crater has a river, many marshes, a soda lake teeming with flamingos, a forest, and wide grasslands. It is also well-known for its elephants, which are the biggest in the world and have enormous tusks. The Ngorongoro Crater is a wonderful natural wonder. As soon as you approach the crater’s edge, the caldera opens out before you, providing a breathtaking perspective of this magnificent natural wonder. You will spend the night at Simba Campsite on the crater’s edge, enjoying the spectacular panorama as the sun sets.
Day 5: Transfer Back to Arusha
We’ll start the day early and descend into the crater bottom for a fantastic morning of wildlife in one of the most beautiful sites on the planet. Following the wildlife drive, there will be time for a picnic lunch at the stunning Hippo Lake. After lunch, we will do a brief game drive before ascending the crater and leaving the Ngorongoro Conservation Area for Arusha. We plan to return to Arusha about 5:00 or 6.00 p.m. After a full day of game viewing, you will return to Arusha and spend the night. End of Safari.
