Detailed Itinerary 5 Days Kruger National Park and Soweto Town.

Day 1: Arrival in Johannesburg and Tour Soweto Town

When you arrive at OR Tambo, you will be met by a driver who has been dispatched by the guest home. The airport is roughly a 15-minute drive from the guest home. After settling in, you will have a few moments to relax before your tour guide meets you at the hotel for your Soweto tour. During the trip, you will see Mandela’s former home, which is now a museum, as well as the historic areas of this colorful and renowned neighbourhood, as well as the opposite side of Soweto, where the not-so-poor now dwell. After returning to your guest home, you will have a buffet-style dinner before retiring for the night.

Day 2: Arrival in Hoedspruit- Moholoholo

You have an early morning departure with the hotel transport back to the airport, where your overland shuttle will be waiting for you at 06H45. Breakfast will be cooked for you by the guest house. The shuttle ride takes around 5 hours to arrive in Hoedspruit, where you will be welcomed by your Khalanga guide who will drive you to your lodging in town and assist you with checking in. After a little rest and lunch in town (on our own), we travel to the Moholoholo Animal Rehabilitation Center to learn about the animals that are rescued in the region and why they are important to protect. When we return to the lodge, your host will have prepared a beautiful three-course Italian meal for you to enjoy under the stars.

Day 3: Transfer to Kruger National Park and Sunset Drive

An early check-out and departure in an Open Safari Vehicle (OSV) is followed by a 45-minute drive to Orpen Gate, one of the Kruger National Park gates. After managing the admission requirements we begin our first game drive to observe the Big and the Little 5 as well as many more species; discover out about their behaviour and how they interrelate. We have plenty of time to enjoy the peace and tranquillity of an African morning as we eat breakfast at one of the picnic locations (breakfast package prepared by the lodge).

We continue farther south, where we have a better chance of viewing the elusive and endangered rhino and other iconic animal species from the vantage point of the OSV, which allows us to look over thick grasses and shrubs and locate animals. We stop for lunch at one of the picnic areas (own expense), and later this afternoon we check into Skukuza Rest Camp, where you will spend the night in one of the nice bungalows. While you join the Kruger-organized sunset drive, your guide prepares supper for you.

Day 4: Morning Walk and Game Drive

You join the Kruger-organized morning walk in the morning, allowing you lots of opportunities to identify smaller animals, animal footprints, and signs, as well as go even closer to the African bush, which is a unique experience that you can only enjoy when you leave the car. Later, we will have breakfast at the camp (provided by your guide) and then begin our second day of safari. We’ll take a different route back to the north for even more fantastic game watching possibilities, and we’ll stop for a brief lunch at one of the picnic areas (own account). Later in the afternoon, we arrive at Satara Rest Camp, where your guide prepares a traditional African braai to commemorate your African journey. Spend the night at your camp.

Day 5: Drive Back to Johannesburg via Panorama Route

On our final morning game drive, we’ll get an early start and be on our way after a brief breakfast cooked by your guide. We swap cars at Orpen Gate and continue on to Panorama Route, where you will see some of the attractions that make up this amazing assortment of viewing places and views that attract travelers from all over the world. We will then drop you off at one of the OR Tambo shuttle stops, where you will interchange cars for your return drive to Johannesburg. End of Safari.
