Detailed Itinerary for 12 Days Kenya Wildlife Safari

Day 1: Pickup in Nairobi and Drive to Amboseli National Park

After a short safari briefing over breakfast, you will check out of your hotel in Nairobi and proceed on a journey to Amboseli national park, a popular Kenya safari destination for its magnificent landscape and enormous herds of elephants. The stunning view of Amboseli National Park is produced by the backdrop of the snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro, which dominates the park’s topography and vast plains.

You should arrive in the park in time for lunch, which you will eat after checking into your lodge. In the afternoon, you will go on an afternoon game drive through the open plains of Amboseli National Park, where you will see large herds of elephants with impressive tusks, lions, buffaloes, rhinos, wildebeests, waterbucks, giraffes, elands, and many other animals. Dinner will be served in the evening, and you will spend the night at your lodge.

Day 2: Full Day Game Drive in Amboseli National Park

As you prepare for your morning wildlife drive, you will start with breakfast at your lodge. During morning game drives, a variety of wildlife species, including herds of elephants, predators such as lions, leopards, and cheetahs, as well as zebras, buffalos, warthogs, hyenas, kudu, gazelles, and baboons, may be spotted in the savannah plains and woodlands of Amboseli national park.

During your morning and evening wildlife drives, you will also get views of Mt Kilimanjaro, which is snow-capped. You will return to your lodge for lunch after your morning game drive. Later in the evening, you will continue your animal viewing activities in Amboseli National Park, as well as photography to capture the breathtaking environment. After your wildlife drive, your guide will transport you back to your lodge for supper and stay.

Day 3: Transfer to Ol Pejeta Conservancy

After breakfast at your lodge on day 3 of your 12-days Kenya wildlife safari, you will check out and depart for Sweet Waters- Ol Pejeta Conservancy, stopping for lunch en route. Later in the evening, you’ll watch a game before dinner and sleeping the night away.

Day 4: Visit Sweet waters in Ol Pejeta

Begin your day with breakfast, followed by a morning game drive in which you will have the opportunity to see a variety of species. Return to your lodge/camp for lunch and spend the afternoon on a private trip of Chimpanzee Sanctuary, Rhino Sanctuary, and relaxing by the pool before dinner and overnight sleep.

Day 5: Transfer to Samburu Game Reserve

You will leave Ol Pejeta and drive to Samburu Game Reserve, one of the most beautiful reserves in Northern Kenya. You will see many breathtaking sights along the way, including views of Mount Kenya, Africa’s second tallest mountain, with its snow-capped peak protruding above the colors. When you arrive, you will have lunch after checking into your lodge.

Day 6: Morning and Evening Game Drives in Samburu Game Reserve

You will spend the entire day seeing Samburu game reserve, beginning with an early morning meal before heading to the reserve for a full game drive. During the game drive, you will see leopards, lions, spotted hyenas, cheetahs, antelopes, waterbucks, dik-dik, gazelles, and many more animals. You will eat lunch at your lodge or at any picnic location in the park, such as the banks of the Ewaso Ng’iro River, and then embark on another wildlife drive. Dinner will be served in the evening, and you will spend the night at your lodge.

Day 7: Transfer to Lake Nakuru National Park and Game Drive

You will rise early in the morning for a morning game drive, after which you will return to your lodge for breakfast. Check out of your resort and depart on a drive to the Great Rift Valley area of Kenya, directly to one of the rift valley’s parks, Lake Nakuru National Park, with a halt at Thomson Falls along the way. Arrive in the park in time for noon, settle into your lodge, and have lunch provided to you.

In the afternoon, you will go to the park for an afternoon game drive, where you will see hundreds of pink flamingos on the lake’s banks. You will also see many creatures that live in the park, such as rhinos, lions, warthogs, and leopards, among others. After the game drive, you’ll return to your lodge for supper and an overnight stay.

Day 8: Drive to Lake Bogoria National Park

Begin your trek to Lake Bogoria National Park. Upon arrival at the park, you will check in for lunch and spend the afternoon on a guided walk to explore the springs of Lake Bogoria, which is known as a “healing place” and is home to the lesser flamingo birds and several animals such as Dik Dik, Impalas, buffaloes, Leopards, Jackals, and many more. There are also hot springs and geysers located uniquely in Lake Bogoria National Park.

Day 9: Transfer to Lake Naivasha

Enjoy a wildlife drive at Lake Bogoria National Park, where you may see shy kudus, antelopes, and other species that rise early in the morning. You’ll next head to Lake Baringo for a boat trip to see crocodiles, hippos, and a plethora of wildlife. You will also see the caverns before arriving in Lake Naivasha for supper and a night’s relaxation.

Day 10: Drive to Masai Mara National Reserve

You will next go to Crescent Island for a boat trip where you will see numerous water birds, hippos, crocodiles, and other wildlife. You might also take a walk along Crescent Island to see the many beautiful sights that this island has to offer. Following this trip, you will continue on to Masai Mara, stopping for lunch in Narok Town along the way. When you arrive at Masai Mara, you will check into your lodge for dinner and a good night’s sleep. If you have time, you will go on an evening game drive in the reserve.

Day 11: Game Viewing in Masai Mara National Reserve.

After breakfast, you will leave your lodge and go to the reserve with your packed lunch for a picnic meal at one of the picnic spots nestled along the banks of the Mara River. You will go on full-day game drives (morning and afternoon game drives) and see lions, wildebeests, cheetahs, buffaloes, elephants, wild dogs, elands, gazelles, and other creatures. You will have lunch breaks in between game drives, and they will embark on another game drive. At the end of the trip, you will return to your lodge, eat dinner, and stay overnight.

Day 12: Drive Back to Nairobi and Departure.

You will check out of the lodge, bidding farewell to the Maasai Mara National Reserve, and begin on a journey back to Nairobi, where you will be dropped off either at your hotel or at the airport for your return flight home. End of Safari.
