Detailed Itinerary

First stop: Prison Island – Changuu Private Island.
You may see the Aldabra Giant Tortoise, peacocks, the Dik-dik (a small antelope species), prison ruins, and other sights at Prison Island. The Aldabra Giant tortoise’s remarkable lifespan of almost 200 years is a fascinating fact. At Prison Island, the oldest one is 197 years old. They rank among the longest-living creatures on the planet. This structure was constructed in 1983 to house Zanzibar’s Central Prison. The cholera epidemic in Egypt and the subsequent bubonic plague in Bombay occurred in 1893, the year the jail’s construction got underway. Authorities determined that the prison and other constructed buildings needed to be kept ready as a quarantine station to provide appropriate control measures for vessels and their passengers in order to reduce the possibility of an epidemic in the Zanzibar Archipelago, as Zanzibar was the primary port in East Africa.

At Prison Island, you may observe animals like peacocks, dik-diks, and the enormous tortoise from Aldabra, as well as learn about the history of the island and the previous quarantine station. Plantations and trees, Zanzibar doors, the remains of prisons, and much more.

Second Stop: Nakupenda Beach.
After the visit to Prison Island, you will head to Nakupenda Sand Bank, which is a name for a sand bank close to Stone Town. There, you can unwind, swim, unwind in the calmest water and go snorkeling. It’s among Zanzibar’s greatest beaches. Additionally, we’ll have a buffet that you may choose from, with fresh vegetarian and seafood options available at Sandbank. One of Zanzibar’s largest sandbanks is Nakupenda Sandbank. This is a lifetime experience that you will not want to miss on your Zanzibar holiday.
