This 8-day safari in Kenya and Tanzania will allow you to see all five of the African Big 5 comfortably, as well as the wildebeest migration, which is known as one of the seven wonders of Africa. After that, you’ll move on to the Maasai Mara Reserve, home of the traditional Maasai pastoralists. The Mara is an amazing reserve that is undoubtedly a must-visit location for those travelling to Africa. It is home to the greatest concentration of animals in Kenya. There is no place to enjoy the traditional African safari other than the Maasai Mara.
When you arrive in the Maasai Mara, you’ll have time for lunch. You’ll then take a little nap before heading out on a game drive in the afternoon, arriving late at your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 2: Full Day at the Maasai Mara.
The second day of your safari will be devoted to taking in the splendors of Kenya’s most well-known game reserve, Maasai Mara National Reserve after taking a hearty breakfast. Among the top wildlife to you will see include the Big Five – lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino and elephant. You will have a morning game drive, return to your lodge for lunch and return for an afternoon game drive. To ensure you fully enjoy the Mara, you can also choose to have a picnic lunch. Arusha is the ‘tourism capital’ from where travelers base to move out to the several tourist destinations in the country.
Day 4: Arusha – Lake Manyara.
Our Adyeri Travel Limited guide will pick you up from Arusha very early in the morning, give you an overview of your upcoming safari, and then take you on a drive to Lake Manyara National Park. After arriving at your lodge in time for lunch, you will take an afternoon game drive in Lake Manyara National Park. A wide range of wildlife species are drawn to the park because of its location along the western escarpment of the Great Rift Valley, which includes one of Africa’s largest concentrations of elephants, the unusual tree-climbing lions of Lake Manyara, and sizable flocks of flamingos drawn by the lake’s algae. Dinner and overnight as per the standard and type of accommodation option requested.
Day 5: Lake Manyara – Serengeti Plains.
On the fifth day of the safari, wake up early in the morning and take breakfast. After breakfast, you will travel through the stunning high-lying farmlands of Karatu and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area on your way to the Serengeti National Park. As we descend into the Serengeti National Park, commonly referred to as the “heart of wild Africa,” we are leaving the highlands behind. The plains of the Serengeti go on forever, rolling into the horizon. The Seronera area, located in the centre of the park, is home to some of the richest wildlife habitats. It is characterized by the Seronera River, which serves as a vital water source for the area and draws a wide variety of wildlife that accurately represents the majority of the Serengeti’s species. We reach the park in time for lunch and after which you go for an afternoon game drive in the Serengeti national park. Dinner and overnight in a standard lodge at the Seronera area.
Day 6: Full day at the Serengeti Plains.
After an early breakfast, we’ll head out for a morning game drive along the Sogore River Circuit, which winds through the plains south of the Seronera River. As we enjoy the wildlife experience of an 8-day safari in Kenya and Tanzania, we’ll be on the lookout for animals like lions, topi, ostriches, and cheetahs in this section. You will head to the Visitor Centre, which is near the Serengeti Seronera Lodge and free campsites, after your game drive. The Centre offers some interesting wildlife displays as well as a gift shop selling information leaflets and maps of the area. The shop also as refreshment, and we shall therefore have our lunch from there.
Later we will have a drive through the Kopjes Circuit in the afternoon, which circles the Maasai Kopjes anticlockwise and is renowned for housing many lions and some enormous cobras. Around the plains are worn granite outcrops known as kopjes. The majority of these outcrops are little ecosystems that offer drinking water in pools that are left in the rock by the rain and shade. Lions may hunt well in the Kopjes, particularly during the dry seasons when most animals visit to feed. Dinner and overnight in a lodge at the Seronera area
Day 7: Transfer from the Serengeti Plains to the Ngorongoro crater.
We will depart the lodge for the Ngorongoro Conservation area after eating an early breakfast. Our next trip will be Olduvai Gorge, which has a long history that dates back to the beginning of time. The anthropologists Drs. Lois and Mary Leakey found the skulls of the early males, also known as “Handy Man” and “Nutcracker Man,” here. We shall arrive at the lodge in time for lunch after which we will descend over 550 meters into the Ngorongoro crater to view wildlife for the rest of the day. Ngorongoro National Park is home to an incredible array of wildlife, including massive African elephants, lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs, and leopards, as well as herds of wildebeest, eland, warthog, zebra, buffalo, and hippo. The park is also sustained by a year-round supply of water and food. Next, we’ll go to Lake Magadi, one of the crater’s primary features. It’s a sizable but shallow alkaline lake in the southwest. This is typically the home of a huge number of flamingos, hippos, and other aquatic fowl. Stay the night at your lodge for dinner.
Day 8: Departure.
Enjoy breakfast, after which we will drive back to Arusha. Upon arrival in Arusha will we have lunch and then we will end your safari. There is an optional alternative of having an early game drive before leaving the Ngorongoro crater, this is the best option for travelers without an early flight.
