Important Information Regarding Serengeti National Park Fees
When Tanzania National Park (TANAPA) began formulating tariffs for the Serengeti National Park, the tourist’s status was a key consideration.
Expatriates/residents – Expatriates/residents are persons who live in Tanzania but are not nationals of Tanzania or any other East African Community member country (Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda and Burundi). These persons must have a class A, B, or C residency permit, a diplomatic passport or Id, an exemption certificate, or a temporary pass with an attached government receipt and acknowledgement letter.
Non-East African Community Citizens — These are foreign visitors who are not inhabitants of East African Community member nations or expatriates/residents; at Serengeti National Park, these persons must show a valid passport.
The Serengeti National Park charges a single admission fee, which is paid by each individual.
Fees and permissions are only valid for 24 hours.
Tourists must produce valid passports or national identification cards as proof of their status.
