Detailed itinerary.

You will leave Nairobi, the capital city of Kenya, very early in the morning and go to Amboseli National Park with your safari guide. As you approach the suburbs of the city, the sun and the reddish-orange African sky greet you with the arrival of a new day. Enjoy the stunning scenery and see Kenyans going about their everyday lives as we go from high-altitude Nairobi City to slightly lower Machakos, Makueni, and eventually the semi-arid Masailand, which is home to Amboseli National Park, in Kajiado County. Get to the park in the middle of the morning, while it’s still cool and the animals are out and about for a safari game drive.

Open dry plains, acacia wood land, rocky thorn bush country swamp, and marshland are the five distinct ecosystems in Amboseli that are worth seeing. Each habitat is home to a distinct variety of species. The giraffes, which graze on the succulent leaves of the trees, ‘comb’ the acacia forests, and the large groups of elephants, hippos, and various aquatic birds that frequent the swamps and marshlands are the main inhabitants of the open plains, which are dominated by wildebeest, zebras, and various antelope species. Keep an eye out for lions relaxing or their cubs playing in the palm-fringed regions.

As you completely towards your safari lodge for lunch make a point of looking at the trees and plains for birds of prey and mischievous baboons. Get to your safari camp or lodge in time for a filling lunch from the buffet and a quick nap. Afternoon game drive looking out for more wild animals and birds, weather permitting enjoy views of Africa’s highest mountain – Mount Kilimanjaro then drive back to Nairobi arriving late in the evening.

Because of the breathtaking view of Mount Kilimanjaro, Amboseli National Park is one of the most visited national parks in Kenya. There are many buffalo, zebra, giraffe, gazelles, and other plains animals in the park. Elephants are a big attraction here and are surprisingly calm around safari cars.

The name “Amboseli” comes from a Maasai word “Empusel” meaning “salty, dusty open plains” its soils are formed other ash that emanated during violent volcanic eruptions that formed Mount Kilimanjaro. The majority of travelers to Amboseli always consider the following queries. You will be returned to your hotel or dropped off at Kenyatta International Airport after your exhausting day in Amboseli.
