On the first of the safari you will be picked up from your hotel of stay in Nairobi by your guide who will brief you about the safari then embark on your journey to Masai Mara. Get to the lodge in time for lunch, check in and unwind before the meal. Enjoy a short evening game drive later to introduce you to the Mara plains. After dinner, head back to camp for dinner and overnight stay.
Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
Day 2: Game Drive in Masai Mara, Maasai Cultural Tour.
After breakfast at the lodge, head out on an early morning game drive in the Masai Mara to witness a variety of wild game, including the Big Five. Enjoy the stunning scenery of Masai Mara and keep an eye out for a variety of birds. After having lunch in the open air, go on to the Maasai tribe to see and have a chance to learn about their way of life. Go back to the lodge and spend the night there like before for dinner.
Day 3: Hot Air Balloon Ride, Game Drive in Masai Mara.
Wake up early for a hot air balloon ride over the Masai Plains. Keep an eye out for the big five species as well as other wildlife. Savour breathtaking views of the savanna plains scattered with acacia trees as you take in the enchanting sunrises over the Masai Mara. Climax your hot air balloon ride with a champagne breakfast in the wilderness.
Enjoy game drives on the Mara plains after your hot air balloon ride over the Masai Mara, where you may look for the park’s diverse animals. Return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay as above.
Day 4: Fly to Serengeti National Park.
After having an early breakfast at the lodge, head to the airport for your flight to Migori Airport, where you will connect at around 11:20 AM to Seronera Airport in Serengeti National Park. As you head towards your lodge, keep an eye out for wildlife and the breathtaking Serengeti landscape. As you wait for lunch, check in at the lodge and unwind.
Take a game drive in the Serengeti National Park in the late afternoon. Stay the night at the lodge for dinner.
Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
Day 5: Full Day in Serengeti National Park.
After your early breakfast at the lodge, drive out for a full day game drive with our lunch boxes along the Seronera area. Savour the abundance of wildlife in the Seronera River area, which includes lions, Thomson gazelles, topi, ostriches, and cheetahs. Tanzania’s most well-known and sought-after national park is Serengeti National Park.
You will head to the Visitor Centre after your game drive, where we will open our lunch boxes for our lunch break. Along with several fascinating wildlife exhibits, the tourist information centre has a gift shop with maps and informational brochures. The store also has a snack area, which is where we will eat lunch.
Take a game drive in the evening to the Kopjes, weathered granite outcrops strewn across the plains that, for the most part, are small ecosystems that offer drinking water in pools formed in the rock by the rain and shade. Lions find the Kopjes to be excellent hunting areas, particularly during dry seasons when most animals visit to cool off and drink. Look for any further wildlife that the morning’s game drive may have missed. Go back for dinner and spend the night as before.
Day 6: Transfer to Ngorongoro Conservation Area, Crater Rim Walk.
After eating breakfast at the lodge, make your way out of the Serengeti and go on another wildlife drive. Enjoy lunch while travelling, and then start your guided walking safari across the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Experience nature and wildlife up close before being transferred to your lodge. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.
Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
Day 7: Full Day Ngorongoro Crater Drive.
After a leisurely breakfast at the lodge, embark on a half-day safari tour that takes you over 600 metres down into the crater to see wildlife. In the Ngorongoro National Park, an enormous diversity of species, including herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, eland, warthog, hippo, and big African elephants, are sustained by a year-round supply of water and forage. The abundant population of predators in this stunning national park, which includes lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs, and the ever-elusive leopard which occasionally needs a trained eye to spot is another major lure.
One of the primary features of the crater, Lake Magadi, is a big but shallow alkaline lake in the southwest that you will also explore. It’s normally possible to view a lot of flamingos, hippos, and other aquatic birds here. After that, you’ll make the drive to the lodge to spend the night there and have dinner.
Day 8: Maasai Boma Visit, Departure.
After breakfast at the lodge, head out to visit the Maasai Bomas, and meet the brave people that co-exist with the wild game of Ngorongoro Conservation Area which was formally part of the Serengeti National Park. After that, continue with the transfer back to Arusha, where you will be dropped off at your accommodation or at the airport in preparation for your departure, ending your safari.
