Detailed Itinerary 3 Days Budget Safari Masai Mara

Day 1: Pickup in Nairobi and Transfer to Masai Mara

You will be driven down the escarpment along the bottom of the magnificent Great Rift Valley, departing from Nairobi, Kenya’s capital. You’ll arrive at your overnight camp in the afternoon, just in time for lunch. This safari camp, located near the Masai Mara Game Park, is nestled away in the cool shade of indigenous trees, providing a sanctuary from the African heat. You will stay in self-contained permanent tents with feature beds and en-suite bathing rooms.

In the afternoon, you will embark on your first exhilarating game drive in the Masai Mara game reserve, one of East Africa’s most popular safari locations. At night, you may hear a cacophony of varied animal sounds as they interact with one another in the darkness – reason enough to go. Dinner and overnight at Semadep Mara Camp/ Sarova Mara Lodge

Day 2: Masai Mara

The next day is spent game watching in Kenya’s best wildlife reserve, the Masai Mara National Reserve. Morning and afternoon game drives will take you in search of Africa’s Big Five as well as a multitude of other species that inhabits this large Kenyan game reserve. On clear days, the Mara delivers spectacular orange-tinged sunsets that are well worth photographing.

Return to your accommodation for lunch and a little break. Later, go on an afternoon wildlife drive in the Masai Mara grasslands, which are teeming with wildebeests, especially during the migration season, which runs from early July to late September. You’ll also get to view impala, topi, cheetah, jackals, and bat-eared foxes. If you’re lucky, you’ll see several black rhinos in the park; these rhinos are reclusive and prefer to separate themselves from the other wildlife creatures in the park, making sighting them tough. You will also travel along the Mara River, which is home to many hippos and Nile crocodiles. Later, return to your lodge for dinner and rest.

Day 3: Transfer Back to Nairobi and Departure.

You will leave your safari camp early in the morning for a wildlife drive across the Masai Mara Reserve. Then you’ll drive back to lively Nairobi, arriving at 10:00 a.m. Have lunch enroute to Nairobi city with an optional stopover in Narok town where you can visit the Maasai craft stalls in the area and also interact with the friendly Maasai people. This wonderful safari comes to an end when you return to Nairobi.
